Michael Weiss is a Baltimore-based artist who uses traditional painting materials and methods to create contemporary images containing oblique, but not opaque content. He has exhibited widely throughout the region and his work is a part of numerous private and corporate collections.
He has recently concluded 11 years serving as the Associate Dean of Fine Arts at the Maryland Institute College of Art to return to his role as an artist and a full-time faculty member teaching in the Drawing, Foundation (now FYE), General Fine Arts, and Painting departments.
Weiss has received grants from the Creative Baltimore Fund and the Maryland State Arts Council.
