Michael Weiss is a Baltimore-based artist who uses traditional painting materials and methods to create contemporary images containing oblique, but not opaque content. He has exhibited widely throughout the region and his work is a part of numerous private and corporate collections.
Weiss is a full-time faculty member teaching in the Drawing, Foundation (now FYE), General Fine Arts, and Painting departments at the Maryland Institute College of Art. He is currently serving as the Interim Associate Provost and Dean for Undergraduate Studies.
Weiss has received grants from the Creative Baltimore Fund and the Maryland State Arts Council.
